Every time I try to download a file, it won't work. The tab on Firefox will display the link to the file in the tab bar (e.g. http://www.pctools.com/mirror/rminstall.... and a completely blank web page. Internet Explorer is the same. I have Free Download Manager, but as soon as I use that, it will stop the download and say "Access Denied. Invalid User Name or Password", when I'm not connecting through a proxy and none of the sites require a password to download the files. I have run both AdAware and Spybot, but it still won't download.

Most probably the link for the download has been removed and the item you wish to download has been removed.
Try using search engines to find the item that you want to download as there is no way you can download from this link again.
